The image block in the drag and drop editor is how you can add single or multiple images to your campaigns by accessing your image library.
Once the image block has been added to a campaign, anytime you click on the Browse button found within the block, you will be brought to your image library where you can choose to use an image you have previously added to your library. Or, you can click the Upload button in the upper left corner to upload new files directly from your computer or device.
Please Note: When using the drag and drop editor, you will be able to access images and files that you had previously uploaded using the legacy editor. Both campaign editors access the same image library in your account.
The image block in the drag and drop editor is also equipped with an advanced image editor that allows you to easily crop, rotate, resize, apply filters or frames, add stickers, and much more to any image, without leaving the editor.
Things you can do with the image block
Any time you add an image to the image block, you’ll see the content properties for it appear in the editor panel on the right where you can do the following:
Image block function |
What it does |
---|---|
Auto-Width | This option is enabled automatically if the image size is bigger than the box. Otherwise, you can choose to toggle this off to manually adjust the width of the image using the percentage slider. |
Align | You can adjust the alignment of the image to be left, center, or right. |
Change image | You can swap out the image and select another one by selecting the Change image button. Clicking on it will open the image library where you can replace the image with a different one in your library, or upload a new image from your device. |
Apply effects & more | Click on the Apply effects & more button to load the image editor where you can use these tools: Filter, Resize, Crop, Transform, Draw, Text, Shapes, Stickers, Frame, and Corners. |
Alternate text | This is where you can enter the text that should be displayed when images are turned off. Simply write a basic description of the image. Adding alternate text is a best practice since there are still email clients that have images turned off by default. |
URL | You can link the image to a URL, to a telephone number, or to a file that you previously uploaded through the image library. |
Padding | You can adjust the padding of the image block as a whole unit by using the All slides option.
Otherwise, toggle More options to be able to adjust the padding on each side individually. |
Hide block option | You can select to hide the image block on desktop or mobile by clicking on the corresponding icon. |
How to access the image editor
Whenever you add or select an image in the drag and drop editor, you’ll see a button for Apply effects & more in the panel on the right, and clicking on it will bring you to the image editor.
The image editor has a variety of additional tools that you can use to edit your image, and they are: Filter, Resize, Crop, Transform, Draw, Text, Shapes, Stickers, Frame, and Corners.
Each time you use one of the image editing tools, you will need to either select Cancel or Save to exit and be brought back to the campaign.
How to undo changes made in the image editor
It’s important to note that when using any of the image editing tools, there is no undo or back button. Changes are automatically saved while using the image editor (and the drag and drop editor), but you can click on the Cancel button to undo any changes to the image and be brought back to the drag and drop editor.
