How to compare mailings

In your email marketing account, the Response tab is organized into two sections, which you can navigate using the panel on the left. When you click on the Response tab, it will automatically open to the Mailings section, where you will see a list of the mailings that you’ve sent. The other section is the Compare mailings section, which we’ll go over in this article.

How to generate a comparison report

  1. Navigate to your Response tab.
  2. Click on the Compare mailings section in the panel on the left.
  3. Check the box next to each campaign that you want to compare. You can use the date menu at the top left to filter for campaigns in a certain time period.
  4. Click on the Compare button.
  5. Select the desired report type from the dropdown menu.

An Excel spreadsheet will download to your device. It will show a breakdown of the response statistics for each campaign that you selected, as well as a summary of all the numbers combined if you selected more than two campaigns.

Comparison report types

In the Compare mailings section, there are three different types of reports that you can run:

  • Performance summary: Creates a detailed report of the response data for your chosen campaigns.
  • Click summary: Provides a more in-depth look at the clicks that were generated from each of the links in your selected campaigns.
  • Classic summary: Provides a quick comparison of up to five of your sent campaigns.

Compare mailings tips

  • If you select more than five mailings, the Classic summary will not be available for selection.
  • You may select up to 150 mailings for the Performance summary and Click summary reports.
  • Each campaign’s response is available for 18 months, after that time the data is deleted and no longer available. So you’ll want to make sure to export any campaign data that you’d like to save indefinitely.
