How to use response data for segments

After you send out a campaign, you may decide to follow up with the folks who opened it or clicked on a particular link. You can easily target those people by saving them as a segment. You can create these segments from either the Response tab or the Audience tab. For more information about creating segments, please refer to this article.

Response

  1. Navigate to your Response tab.
  2. Click on the name of a campaign to open it.
  3. Click on the Opens tab or the Clicks tab.
  4. Click on the Save this tab as a segment button.

Audience

  1. Navigate to your Audience tab.
  2. Click on the Segments section in the panel on the left.
  3. Click on the Create a segment button on the right.
  4. Give your segment an easily identifiable name.
  5. Click on the Segment type dropdown menu.
  6. Scroll down to the Response section and choose the desired option.
  7. Click on the Any mailing dropdown menu and select the desired mailing from the list.
  8. If you chose Any mailing in the previous step, instead of a specific mailing, click on the final dropdown menu and select a date range.

The segment builder only shows the 500 most recently sent mailings. If you want to segment based on a campaign that is not one of your 500 most recently sent mailings, you will need to do so from the Response page.
