Pairing your domain with the landing page editor gives you the ability to use your own website domain when sharing landing page URLs with your audience. This gives your audience a more consistent user experience because they see the same domain in the browser that’s associated with the landing page as they would see associated with your website.
How to pair your domain for landing pages
There are two main steps to pairing your domain so that it can be used in the URL of your landing pages. First, you will need to make an update in your email marketing account settings. Second, your IT team will need to add a CNAME record to your DNS.
When pairing your domain, your landing page content will be transmitted over http. If you require a secure connection for your content, we recommend forgoing the domain pair and using the default URL which transmits content securely over https.
Updating your account settings
- Navigate to your Account settings.
- Tiered accounts: Navigate to the to the appropriate subaccount and click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen.
- If you are a Manager or Parent user, scroll down to Subaccount settings and choose Account from the dropdown menu.
- If you are an Administrator user, choose Account from the dropdown menu.
- Plus accounts: Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen and choose Account from the dropdown menu.
- Tiered accounts: Navigate to the to the appropriate subaccount and click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen.
- Click on the Custom URLs tab.
- Enter the domain that you want to use in the Custom URL for landing pages field. The domain you enter should be in subdomain format, meaning you’ll want to choose a name to be placed in front of your normal URL. For example, pages.mydomain.com or info.mydomain.com.
- Double-check the spelling and format of the URL and click on the Save button.
The subdomain that you choose in step 3 must be unique for each subaccount.
Updating your DNS records
Your IT team or web developer will need to create a CNAME record that points your domain to your landing pages. The domain that your CNAME record should point to is pages.e2ma.net.
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to fully propagate and take effect, even if you use a shorter TTL, so you may not immediately see your domain paired with your landing pages.
Once you’ve taken care of both of these steps, you’ll be all set. When you publish your landing page, you’ll see your domain represented as part of the published URL.
Managing users
For tiered accounts, custom domains are controlled at the subaccount level. This means that certain subaccount users do have access to modify custom URL settings. If you have certain users that should or should not have access to this option, you’ll need to make sure that their permission level is adjusted accordingly. For more information about user roles and permissions, please refer to the article below that corresponds to your account type:

Unpairing your domain
It’s a quick process to unpair a landing page domain. Simply follow the same steps above, except at Step 3, you would remove your domain from the text box and then click Save. Once that is taken care of, any future landing pages that you publish will use the default URL.
