Drag and drop editor: Content tab

Our drag and drop* editor is governed by the three main functions found under the tabs for Content, Rows, and Settings. While working on a campaign draft, the editor tools are located in the panel on the right. When you click on the Content tab, you’ll see the different block options that are available for your campaign.

Content blocks overview

When using the drag and drop* editor, you can build or adjust the layout of your mailing with an arrangement of content blocks. Each block has its own properties and formatting options, so what you choose depends upon what you’re looking to do. Here’s an overview of the different content blocks you can use and what they can do.

Block Function
Title The title block is type of text block that is used specifically for heading text.
Paragraph The paragraph block is a type of text block that is used specifically for body text.
List The list block is a type of text block that is used specifically for lists.
Image The image block provides a preset box for an image.
Button The button block creates a clickable button.
Table The table block creates an editable table.

Social The social block allows you to add social follow and social sharing icons.
HTML The HTML block offers a preset box for adding your own HTML code.
Video The video block allows you to insert a link and thumbnail for a YouTube or Vimeo video.
Icons The icons block allows you to use images from your library to create clickable icons.
Menu The menu block allows you to create a navigation menu in your campaign.
RSS The RSS block allows you to import content from an RSS feed into a mailing.
Events The events block connects with your Eventbrite account and lets you insert invitations and collect RSVPs right from your email.

Adding and arranging content blocks

To add a content block to your campaign, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your Campaigns tab.
  2. Open a saved drag and drop draft or click on the Create new campaign button to create a new campaign from scratch.
  3. Click on one of the content blocks in the right panel and drag it over to your mailing.
  4. As you drag the block over to your campaign, you will see a blue highlight appear labeled Drag it here. This highlight will follow your cursor as you move it around and indicates where the content block will appear in the campaign when you drop it.
  5. Once you release the block, it will appear in the place you designated.

When rearranging content blocks in your mailing, you can add or move them above or below existing content blocks on the page, but not inside an existing block. If you want to place multiple blocks side-by-side, you’ll need to be working in a row with multiple columns. For more information about rows, please refer to this article.

To rearrange existing content blocks, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the content block to reveal the blue toolbar options.
  2. Click on the four-way arrow icon on the right and drag the block to another location in your mailing.
  3. The blue highlight labeled Drag it here will appear again to indicate where the block will appear.
  4. Once you’ve chosen a new spot for the block, release it and it will snap into place.

To delete a content block, click on the trashcan icon in the blue toolbar. To duplicate a content block, click on the icon with the two squares on it, next to the trashcan icon.

Changing styles and settings in a content block

In the drag and drop editor, most content block settings are controlled by the Content properties panel on the right. When you click on a content block, the Content properties panel will automatically open. The settings available in the Content properties panel vary depending on the type of block you’re editing, but most contain options for modifying alignment, URL, padding, width, etc.
