This article explains how to restore or permanently delete archived items and how long archived data is available.
How to Restore Archived Items
Occasionally, you may want to restore items from your archive. You can easily access your archived items and restore them by following the steps below:
- Navigate to your archive.
- Tiered accounts: Navigate to the appropriate subaccount, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen, and choose Archived items from the dropdown menu.
- Standalone accounts: Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen and choose Archived items from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the tab that corresponds to the items that you want to restore. There are tabs for “Groups”, “Segments”, “Contacts”, “Signup forms”, “Lightbox forms”, “Landing pages”, “Responses”, and “Email campaigns”.
- Select one or more item in a tab by checking the box next to each name.
- Click on the Actions button above and select Restore to return the selected items to your audience. You can also restore a single item by clicking on the corresponding dropdown arrow and selecting Restore from the menu.
- Read the pop-up message carefully and then confirm your selection.
Note: Archived items are available for restoration to your account for up to 18 months. After 18 months, the data is purged and cannot be retrieved.
How to Delete Archived Items
Occasionally, you may want to delete items from your archive, for example, to comply with a contact’s GDPR request. You can easily access your archived items and delete them by following the steps below. Please keep in mind that this action cannot be undone.
Warning: If you delete data from your archive, this action is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Navigate to your archive.
- Tiered accounts: Navigate to the appropriate subaccount, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen, and choose Archived items from the dropdown menu.
- Standalone accounts: Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen and choose Archived items from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the tab that corresponds to the items that you want to delete. There are tabs for
- “Groups”, “Segments”, “Contacts”, “Signup forms”, “Lightbox forms”, “Landing pages”, “Responses”, and “Email campaigns”.
- Select one or more item in a tab by checking the box next to each name.
- Click on the Actions button above and select Delete to to permanently delete the selected items. You can also delete a single item by clicking on the corresponding dropdown arrow and selecting Delete from the menu.
- Read the pop-up message carefully and then confirm your selection.
Can I delete all contacts in my archive at once?
Yes, you can. To do this, navigate to your archive using the instructions above. Click on the Contacts tab and then click on the Delete all button. Please keep in mind that this cannot be undone.
